In the first few minutes of this film I was thinking "Man Vs machine - who is smarter" would be the theme.
But it got complex fast, reminding me of "The Magus" by John Fowles where a young man on an isolated vacation is manipulated by a charismatic man who seems to play with the time/space/reality continuum, the hook being an attractive woman. There is also a carnivalesque aspect, where all characters, including the AI, use a social mask to hide their intentions.
Transhumanism is a freaky idea. If machines surpass us in intelligence they have no need for us, right?
